The memory maker's new 1.1 V modules pair dual-channel DDR5-6400 with a clock driver, PMIC, temperature-sensing SPD and On-Die ECC, aiming at edge AI, smart manufacturing and industrial automation.
Transcend Information, which bills itself as a leading global manufacturer of memory and storage solutions, has broadened its embedded DRAM lineup with DDR5-6400 CUDIMM and CSODIMM modules offering capacities of up to 64 GB per module. The vendor is positioning the new parts to meet the computing demands of edge AI, smart manufacturing, industrial automation, and high-performance embedded systems.
Both form factors take advantage of DDR5's dual-channel architecture, which the company says improves data access, and run at a low operating voltage of 1.1 V. Signal integrity at speed is handled by an integrated Client Clock Driver (CKD), included to minimize the interference caused by noise and jitter during high-speed operation and thereby enhance signal stability. Power delivery is managed by an integrated power management IC (PMIC), which further improves power efficiency and voltage regulation on the module itself.
Resilience and monitoring hardware rounds out the package. Each module's SPD chip features a built-in temperature sensor, enabling real-time monitoring of memory temperature in operation, while a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) helps protect components from damage caused by voltage fluctuations. On-Die ECC, built into the DDR5 DRAM chips themselves, is cited as enhancing data integrity and long-term operational reliability.
Taken together, Transcend argues, these design elements provide next-generation industrial computing platforms with a high-capacity, high-performance, and dependable memory solution. The company singles out the up-to-64 GB per-module capacity as the headline figure, asserting that it answers the intensive computing requirements of industrial computers, edge computing devices, and embedded systems as edge AI workloads move onto industrial and embedded hardware.
For embedded-systems builders, the paired CUDIMM and CSODIMM formats extend the same DDR5-6400 speed grade and feature set across two module footprints, giving industrial designers matching options within the vendor's embedded DRAM range.
